Real Radio’s Robin Galloway recently got back in the saddle for Pedal Scotland, joining round the world cyclist, Mark Beaumont – and 5000 other participants – in a 55 mile fundraising run between Glasgow Green and Edinburgh.
The intercity charity cycle – now in its 10th successful year – is Scotland’s biggest bike ride, pulling in more than £800,000 for good causes including Leukaemia Research.
Zap! Entertainment was proud to be associated with the 2008 event, providing both entertainment and information updates at the finishing line in Victoria Park, Edinburgh from their small but perfectly formed Mobile 1 unit.
Record breaker Beaumont – the 26 year old Fifer who recently circumnavigated the globe in only 195 days – commented: “Pedal for Scotland is a great event for the whole family and it’s fantastic to see so many people taking up the challenge!”
Let’s hear it for pedal power – and the efforts of Cycling Scotland, Sustrans, Pennine Events, Real Radio and the army of volunteers who made the day possible!
