Diamond Jubilee Visit to Glasgow.

As part of their week-long visit to Scotland, HRH Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip stopped off in Glasgow on July 4th 2012 to celebrate not one, but three Diamond Jubilee events. The first of the day was a morning service of thanksgiving held at Glasgow Cathedral and led by Rev Dr. Laurence Whitley….the last was a late afternoon visit to meet staff and patients at St. Margaret’s Hospice in Clydebank.

Sandwiched in the middle was a Royal walkabout in the city’s George Square where – despite heavy summer downpours (insert your own “long to reign/rain over us” joke here) – the royal couple managed to meet and greet a few thousand well-wishers and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, organised by Zap!

Hue and Cry, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Michelle McManus were just a few of the many talented acts that we brought to the main stage for Glasgow City Council’s “Diamond Jubilee Performance”.

Zap! Entertainment Ltd – now by Royal Appointment (aye, right!).
